HOW IS SARID HELPING?
SARID is very active
in the ongoing relief and reconstruction effort and has collected
funds in the Boston, MA, USA, area. These funds were transferred
to Sri Lanka, where our representative, Vinod Moonesinghe
(vkm@sltnet.lk) and a number
of SARID's volunteers, supplied affected small townships and
communities with food, medicine, clothes and other provisions
(see needs
for details).
SARID concentrated
on the badly hit east coast of Sri Lanka to provide schoolchildren
with supplies and toilets.
SARID also worked with Dr. Rumi Cader, a Sri
Lankan professor at the faculty of medicine at UCLA, who was
organizing medical relief in Sri Lanka.
By donating money through SARID, you can allow us to give it directly to affected people or to dispense it via local relief organizations. Whichever option you choose, we will send 100% of your donation. We shall also regularly inform you about what we are doing with your relief funds.
